Natural Slate

Natural slate is usually the preferred choice to deliver a low maintenance, durable and beautiful roof installation. A good quality natural slate roof, installed to the correct specification and appropriately maintained, can be expected to last up to 100 years, or even longer!

Depending on your aesthetic and budgetary preferences, choices include Spanish and Brazilian natural slate, or the highly desirable reclaimed Welsh and Delabole (Cornish) slates.

Once felt and battened, the slates are hand-cut and secured with copper clamp nails or stainless steel hooks.

Manufacturer's Guarantee: usually 75 years (depending on the product)

Life Expectancy: 80-100 years

Fibre Cement Slate

Fibre Cement Slate is a great value alternative to natural slate.

With different shapes, colours, and textures available, fibre cement slates are ideal for a more contemporary structure, and their lighter composition allows for more variation in roof pitches and design complexity.

Life Expectancy: 60 years
